Happy Monday! I'm happy to have time to post again, and happy that I've had time to knit. With caring for my mom (who is doing much better) and watching Super Bowl XL with my guys (DH and Dad) I've had more knitting time. So...the tubes are done and on the proper feet!
![]() These are done in Plymouth Encore that was purchased at Smiley's Yarn online. A warning, though -- besides the $30 minimum order, their yarns are not always perfect. Twice I have gotten skeins that did not match even though they were the same dye lot. One was faded, one was just a whole different color. The low prices usually make it worthwhile. Right now there is a sale on Lion Brand Thick-n-Quick Chenille, which might make a nice chemo cap. Back to the socks at hand... DH is very pleased with them. They are a color he likes, even if I don't really. He doesn't mind the bunchies and wrinkles that happen because they don't have a fitted heel. Me? Think of the Princess and the Pea. A wrinkle!? Call 9-1-1! Evacuate the bed! Imagine helping my mom after surgery -- she is the same way. A wrinkle is a major problem. Anyway...I had great incentive to finish the socks. They were taking up my size 5 and 6 Denise circulars and that's what I needed to make the dishcloth for my exchange. So...Off with the Socks! The E-Z Knit, E-Z Fit Tube Socks pattern is from Fruhal Knitting Haus and is quite a mindless knit. I finished off with kitchener stitch rather than pull the yarn through. They serve the purpose of making something for DH for Valentine's Day, making socks for DH so he doesn't feel left out, and doing something other than a hat, since that has not proven successful yet. On the needles...a lovely dishcloth using lovely yarn...and part of an exchange, so it will be shared later. Also the monthly dishcloth which is taking a backseat for now. The Caps for a Cure KAL is growing and hats are being completed. I'm anxious to get started on one myself. I'm trying to get several things done to clear the way for the UFOlympics. I'm looking forward to picking up Picovoli again. Have a lovely knitty week! |

post a commentThey look great.
It's weird - that whole Princess and the Pea thing cause I was just saying the other day that I am TOTALLY that princess. Weird.
The socks are great! I am glad that your mom is doing better!!
I hear ya about the wrinkles in the socks, I can't wear tube socks for that reason and also because the toe always bugs me if the seam is not perfectly sitting on the top of my toes (rather than all askew at the ends of them). The bright side is, we know we're princesses! The socks do look great and they're definitely hubby sockies.
Well, I feel better knowing I am only one of many Princesses! :)
Great job on the socks! And I understand abot the wrinkles being annoying, it's the perfectionist in us *s*
Great to hear your mom is doign better, and that youve had time to knit and unwind some. *s* If you need a great easy hat pattern, give Crazy Aunt Purl's easy roll brim hat a go - you will LOVE it!
Your Felted SP 2 Pal
Hmmm, I love those socks! And I have a husband who would also love a pair like it! ANd LOOK! I have the yarn to do it with!
Thank you so much! It was quite a surprise to get the package in the mail today as I had forgotten such a thing would be coming my way!
:)
I will post about it tomorrow. Probably in the afternoon!
Thank you so much! Very generous indeed. And the yarn has found a good home. It's feeling loved and part of the the group!
