Carrying on...
![]() Adelle sent me some pretty Regia sock yarn for the Unloved Sock Yarn Swap hosted by Beth. I love the color and have been planning to make some socks that will go well with jeans. I've never used Regia, so I am looking forward to it. She also sent a basic pattern for the yarn, which is great, since I am as basic as they come. The card she made has a chocolate cake recipe, too. Very nice! Thanks Adelle! I will put this to good use. My dad even asked when I would be making him another pair of socks because he would have frozen to death the other night if it hadn't been for the warm socks I made him. LOL. I guess there are many socks in my future and that suits me just fine. I am growing weary of my "big" project and will welcome returning to quicker jobs. So...how is the "big" project coming? *Sigh* I am a bit discouraged, not at the progress since that is good, but at the quality. My Picovoli is full of thread pulls (which I hide in the back or try to stitch up the best I can) and inconsistent stitches. My lovely Denise needles keep coming undone -- not by any fault of their own. I just knit so darn tight that I have to constantly push the yarn along the cable and end up twisting a bit to coax it onto the needle. Next thing I know, several of my stitches are flailing about in the open air. Yikes! I am trying to knit looser, but the more anxious I get, the tighter I knit. So it goes... I am determined to finish the Pico, I just hope I will wear her when I'm done. At the very least, it is good practice. Sometimes learning is hard and I am impatient. Enough moping.... The best part is that I am past the armholes. I bound off then cast on in a new way and learned new things. I have five inches of even knitting before the decreases start. Here she is so far. ![]() I guess disappointing days are part of the Olympic spirit, so I will suck it up and continue on as my other yarns call to me...hats, socks, bags...oh the things that wait in the wings! I may even visit a LYS to pick up some Addis -- one more disconnect and I will! I wonder if this mood is induced by Valentine chocolate overload? Hoping your day is happy and productive. :) |
