I am very pleased to introduce my new friend...not very pretty, but a whole lot of fun.
Here she is hanging out with another one of my friends. My dear husband brought me this frog -- just cuz. Gotta love it when they think of you when you're not there.
After finishing the sock -- and promising not to start any others until the mate is complete (I must keep reminding myself of that) -- I started a new mystery project. It's unlikely the intended recipient will oogle these pages, but ya just never know.
It's a to-be-felted job and I am excited. I actually got to practice my felting today. Mumsy made a bag (cuz she's fast like that) and since she has a front loader and other issues, asked me to felt it. That is a big responsibility!! I was nervous. But I knew she would forgive me, so I dove in.
Here it is drying on a box. That is so magical! I really didn't think it would shrink to a usable size. Well, it's almost a bit too small for a lady who drags gigantic bags with her everywhere.
And check it out! That nice I-cord? Well, that is just a flat strap that curls and felts all up looking like a way-too-kewl I-cord. Me being a beginner and never doing the I-cord boogey, well, that just sounds too easy. Nice touch.
The Specs: This was made with single strands of Wool of the Andes (the 2 blues) and something else ?? from the LYS called Handmade Memories.
The pattern is free on Jenanne's blog.
We are headed out to Moonlight Madness tonight at the LYS. Knitting from six to midnight. Second sock here I come! I sure hope it matches this one! :)
Have a great weekend! Becky |
