I consider myself a fairly organized person...somehow my habitat does not reflect this self-image. My closets are full of things to sort or tend-to-someday. Well, I actually just ignore it all.
That's why I am so pleased with myself over my free-pattern binder.
All the free patterns to "make someday" are in this binder in handy protective plastic pockets. I had some incentive to get this gem together. My mom wanted some bag and hat patterns, so I bookmarked several on my computer. Well...she is not real comfortable with computery stuff, so I decided to make it easy for her...and earn some brownie points in the process--you never know when you'll need some of those!
So I figured it was just as easy to print out 2 copies of patterns. Our binders aren't identical, though. Heaven forbid I should have the same ones as my MOM! I even gave her a cute Siamese kitten cover for hers.
She took it home and my Dad instantly got binder-envy. She had to gather all his fishing photos and make him a binder, too, complete with a cover of him driving his ocean-going fishing boat. Now it's easy for him to show off the catch-of-the-day to his buddies.
On the sock front...
I went through a short negative phase. "I-hate-socks-what-are-those-crazy-people-talking-about-loving-socks? This-doesn't-feel-good-it-doesn't-work-it-doesn't-look-good--
it-hurts-my-hands-it-hurts-my-head." Wah. Wah. Wah.
That's what my learning curve always looks like with difficult new projects. Sheesh!
Then I rounded that last bend of the heel, the gusset got decreased (Thanks to Mom for reminding me how to pick up the gusset stitches!) and I am working evenly toward the toe. Oh...this part is very, very nice. :)
I expect to post a pic of finished sock tomorrow. Then I will--yes I will!--make the matching sock before I start a fresh pair that will be perfect for my Dad. I know setting the bar to "perfect" for my second pair is a bit much -- but it's for my DAD!
Have a wonderful yarn-filled day! Becky |

AAARGH! Why do I say like that? Because of that binder issue of course. It sounds so nice and lovely. You are one caring soul. Happy knitting!
