A cozy fire, a cup of tea, a good knit. It is that time of year, which makes it the time to "make wood" as my dad would say. DH and I are have been given some firewood and all we have to do is load it up and haul it away. The hour-long drive was perfect for finishing up Second Sock of the first sock pair. Sock was happy to get out of the house and jumped into my dad's big truck. At our destination a new neighbor greeted us with great enthusiasm.
The destination is a cabin on the Trinity River outside a tiny town in the mountains called Willow Creek. The family summer spot, I actually lived in this peaceful place for a couple years when my two boys were little. Such beautiful memories...
Second Sock inspected the load of firewood.
Then looked up to see the beautiful fall sky. A visit to this peaceful place is calming, just like knitting.
Back at home the kitchener stitch closed up the toe and the socks are ready to wear. Finishing these feels like the next step to becoming a real knitter.
In family news, another mom bag. She whipped up Sophie this time. When I-cord eluded her, she substituted the straps from that last bag that curl up and look just like the real thing. It turned out great. Felting is so magical!

Mom is busy on the third bag. I am anxious to get the next socks on the needles. I'm thinking of knitting along with Crazy Aunt Purl & Co. and making some Fuzzy Feet. I need to think of a recipient for these puppies.
Have a lovely day! I'm off to report my finished socks to |
