Tuesday was my class learning to knit socks on 2 circular needles. It was crazy fun. My mom took the class with me, and we made little training socks.
We had a class in using 2 circulars two weeks ago and both bought Denise interchangable circular setsfor the classes. I love working on them. They are light and smooth and easy on my hands and wrists.
Our LYS is called Handmade Memories. The people at the shop are so friendly and there's always something happening there. Our knitting instructor, Deb, is the greatest. Not only does she offer the latest methods of knitting, she charges very little for classes, and -- this is unbelievable! -- she will schedule a class for 2 people for the regular price! All this and she's fun to work with and says to just call whenever we need help. We are very lucky to have her.
After finishing my training sock, which will be felted for an ornament, I was anxious to cast on a real one. I decided to use some of the Cascade 220 and make a practice pair for myself before making a pair for my dad.
Here's the close up.
Then another surprise in the mail...my Socks Soar on Circular Needles book finally arrived! It's available at Amazon.com
Happy knitting to all. ![]() |

'">post a commentOhh this looks fun. I might have to get this book. I bought som sock yarn a few months back and have been dilly-dallying on getting them on a set of needles....hmm! I really like the yarn in the above pic, what kind is it?
P.S. you are up in Humboldt?! I went to school up there for a bit- and two fo my very dear friends lived up there for about 8 years... they miss it dearly since they moved ot Nevada City, CA- but are adjusting to life on the otherside of the "Redwood Curtain"
Yes, I was born and raised up here. I love it. It's beautiful and peaceful.
The yarn is Cascade 220. I am really enjoying working with it. It will make some great socks if I ever get beyond the first few rows.
